SPEAKER_01Yes, yes. Welcome to another episode of Gospel and Filtered, where we go beyond the pulpit, honest conversation, real stories, and kingdom truth. You guys are in for a treat today. We are sitting with overseer Jimmy Washington. Welcome to the show, sir. Hey, pleasure to be here. Pleasure to be here. This is good, man. Listen, it's been a minute because we met when we met, you actually came to encourage the brothers at my church. Yes, yes. Me and uh some of my junior kingsmen. Yes, yes. That was really cool, man. Um, and I gotta say, man, you guys, you and your wife have really powered up on doing some major stuff in Naples. It's beautiful.
SPEAKER_00Yes, um, we don't this was not planned. Okay, you know, uh we we just wanted we thought we were just getting married and you know, just be like two married couples getting married. Just some regular people. Yeah, just regular. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01We do nothing regular. You know, I would say that out my one of my live I was doing this morning. I was saying, you know, sometimes certain people just don't do nothing regular. Extraordinary. Extraordinary. So, you know, before we tap into the show, uh overseer Jimmy, just kind of tell the listeners a little bit of who you are, where you where you're from, where you grew up.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I was born in Hollywood, Florida. Okay. And then I guess around four or five years old, my mom moved to the little town called Amakley.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_00I went to school there in a little farm town, you know. Uh nowhere to go, nothing to do. Right. And just watch, you know, that lifestyle for, you know, till I graduated out of high school. You might wanted to turn it all the way down. Man, she wanted to keep me out of trouble, out of the city, yeah, because it was back then it was pretty rough in Miami and Fort Lauderdale area, Broward and Dade County. So she wanted to get, you know, get us out of the city, city life in. But a mockly, I'm thinking that's the last place, you know, anybody want to be. You're in the boons. You're in the boons of the boons. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. So I went in the military after high school, and and uh then I once I got out of the military, I came back to Imokley. Okay, I don't know how that managed to happen. Yeah. And then um, I guess I, you know, started getting out and meeting people. And I met my wife, you know, um, in Naples. Okay. And uh in less than a year, we was married and on our way.
SPEAKER_01Come on. Come on. It's a beautiful thing. So, you know, one of the things we want to do today on the show, because, you know, a lot of people been, they've been seeing a lot of things coming out lately that's some would say it's mocking the church. Some would say it's reality because, you know, behind closed doors, these people are not really seeing what is really going on with a lot of the people in the church. And so, you know, and this is one of the big reasons for gospel unfiltered, you know, where we have the leaders themselves come and unpack, unpack for you guys and just kind of help you guys understand who they are and what that looked like, the life, in the life of the ministry. Like when you when you got into ministry, did you know you were gonna get into ministry?
SPEAKER_00No, uh, that was not part of my plan. No, okay.
SPEAKER_01I hear you, I hear you. But God pulled you in.
SPEAKER_00But God, he pulled me in, and it had to be nobody but God, the way that I came into ministry. Right, right. Uh very unique ish. Yeah. You know, not through a church, right? Not at the altar. Okay. Not, you know, with a pastor standing over me, praying over me.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00None of that. None of that.
SPEAKER_01Wow. Wow. God just kind of pull you in.
SPEAKER_00Like, you're gonna come.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Or else you, I'm gonna just release you and let you. Just let whatever happened to you happen to you. Yeah, and I'm gonna show you what you're gonna kind of, you know, be dealing with if you don't come with me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So, so the choice is yours.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Well, you listened.
SPEAKER_00I was listening. I was listening.
SPEAKER_01I'm glad you listened.
SPEAKER_00Yes, sir. Yes, sir. I thank God that I that I was listening. That, you know, I mean, how could I not? There was so much, you know, when a lot of chaos is going on. Right, right. You know, you pay attention to everything that's going on. And I was just paying attention to the chaos and and the voices at the same time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And uh, I made my decision. Right. I think I want to be, you know, I think I want peace, comfort, we don't want chaos, we happiness, joy. Yeah, there you go. All of that. I made my mind up right then, and then it's up to us to uh make our mind up. And I like to add on to that, when you make your mind up, do it for real, for real.
SPEAKER_01Yes, you gotta do it for real. As you say that, we we jump over into this part of it where individuals want to understand what does it mean to live gospel outside of the church building?
SPEAKER_00To it's just like how a person clothed themselves.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00When you, if you live in the gospel for real, for real, you're gonna clothe yourself in what you learn on Sunday, yeah, and you're gonna take it through the whole week. Ooh, the whole week. So you're gonna be clothed in the gospel for real outside. You're not gonna, it ain't nothing you got to try to do.
SPEAKER_01Right, right.
SPEAKER_00Okay, right. Because when I came to Christ, I didn't try to do anything but just try to understand, yeah, you know, how does this work? And and he did the rest.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You know, for individuals that would want to know, you know, what does what does your fate look like when it's tested during difficult seasons?
SPEAKER_00It now it now that I have been in uh in the walk of with Christ for uh a little while, yeah, it's much better.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00You know, like when all chaos breaks loose, yeah, you know, I can start I can start praying. Okay. Before, in the beginning, it was retaliation. Ooh. It was retaliation. I'm just I want to keep it real. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We keep it in the book. Unfiltered. It was retaliation. You say something to me and I don't like it, then you know, hey, you responded.
SPEAKER_01I responded. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, I like that. I like that. Because, you know, a lot of people feel like, you know, once you find God, like, you know, you're you're you're transformed fully. Yes. Yeah, but it don't work like that because you gotta step into the word and stay in the word.
SPEAKER_00That's right. You gotta do your part. You know, we do have a part to do to stay rooted and grounded in in our newness. Yeah. You know, if we're gonna proclaim that we're we're new in Christ, it's gonna manifest itself. Oh, definitely. Are you new when that test comes?
SPEAKER_01Right, right. And this, you know, I'm sure a lot of people definitely would would want to ask this question. What's the difference between appearing religious and living transform life?
SPEAKER_00Well, the way I see religious is like a religious is like uh an outward appearance.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And transform is an inner appearance.
SPEAKER_01Where you're walking in Christ.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, where you're working, the changes in the inside, not on the outside. Right, right. So the change that's on the inside is going to manifest itself on the outside. So that's the difference between religious and transform in the newness.
SPEAKER_01Right. You know, a lot of people they feel like because of what they're doing in the world, they're being judged by the people in the church and the pastor. What would you say to that?
SPEAKER_00Well, I will be more receptive to their feelings and and pray that they give me an opportunity to uh show and prove to them the truth.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. The truth. And the truth is not what the world is doing. The world has is it is separated from the truth. Yes.
SPEAKER_01So and that, man, listen, and that is so true. Because I there's so much people that don't necessarily know what the truth is, and then how do they how do they get the truth? Because information is so much out there, but a lot of it is not necessarily the truth. It's fabricated.
SPEAKER_00Right, right. So how would they how would they get the truth? Well, I think it's it's it's all it will come from him, the touch, the the touch from heaven to to your heart, because this is a heart thing.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00You know, so if your heart is not in receive mode, if you you're in tunnels, you ain't receiving, yeah, there's nothing nobody can say. This is true. You know, so I think it starts with the with the heart.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes. And it, you know, it sounds like you're telling them to, it it doesn't really matter what people is saying or telling you. Exactly. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00If you got your heart right, yeah. And just like like I said earlier, you know, when once I, you know, surrendered, yeah, you know, and I did it for real, for real.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And, you know, I didn't want to go back to, you know, how sometimes, you know, a lot of people they'll come to church, they'll, you know, get get their saved, they do all of this stuff, and then they'll go back to doing what they were doing before. Yeah. And by, and it's what's in their heart.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know, yeah. And by me looking at that, I'm like, man, I don't, I I judge my life on what I don't want to do.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00You know, I'm like, I don't, I don't want to be like him. I don't want to be like like that one. I don't want to be, I don't want to do that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know, when I was in in school, got graduated out of high school, yeah, and it was time for me to go to the military. And the reason I went to the military because I don't have any too many other choices.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00But I did not want to remain in the little farm town where I'm seeing where everybody is drinking, smoking, and doing all of these sinful things, you know. And so I I made my mind up. I'm like, that ain't what I want. I want to do. I need to go somewhere and get a start, a new start, new mindset.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know, and that's what the military helped me with. Yes. They, well, I'm like, yeah. So we're gonna stop right now.
SPEAKER_01I gotta tell you because what what you're speaking on goes right into our first scripture, which is James 1.22. But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only. This is probably the best unkerverse for what we're looking like right now with what's happening. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Be ye doers of the word. Yeah, yeah. That is, I will say that is facts.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay. They was like, you want to measure that? Right. I will say facts.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because there is uh rewards for you being a doer, not just a hearer.
SPEAKER_01Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_00You ain't you if you just just a hearer and you're not a doer, yeah, you're not gonna get any rewards. You're gonna be confused, you know. You're gonna keep, you know, repeating the same thing over and over. Right. You know, so like I said, for me, yeah, I made my mind up, right, you know, not knowing, you know, how to walk this Christian life, right? You know, I'm gonna do what the word said, and I'm gonna follow the word.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00And I'm gonna be true to it because that's that is me. That's part of my identity. Not just not just hearing it. Not just hearing it. And I don't, you know, people could people always talking, they're still talking in the pulpit, in the in the pew, everywhere. Yeah, but what you're gonna believe. Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_01And it that is so dope that you just said that, what you're gonna believe, because when with that we dive right into Matthew 5, 16, where it said, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And that's what I allow my walk with Christ, my yes to Christ, look like when I got it, when I came, uh, when I started my ministry. Started my ministry, I didn't know, right? I was at a crossroad.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Did not know what was going on. I just surrendered to God, you know. Like, I hey, I don't want to live this other sinful life no more, you know. And so I all I want to do is just, you know, just be true. I want to be able to know who I am. Yes. I was I was having identity crisis.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00So, but when God called me, then I did hear his voice, and I was able to uh say, okay, I'm gonna follow, follow God as long as I can until if he let me down, then I'm going back, though, I'm going back to where I came from. Yeah, it's but and he never let me down. No, no, yeah. It's it's ever since, you know, things have been going up. Ministry, you know, I had to learn what a ministry is. Yes. You know, I didn't know what a ministry is, I wouldn't wasn't living that lifestyle to know what a ministry is.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And, you know, but when we got into the ministry, then God had this already orchestrated where he already got kids, troubled kids, and things that I went through when I was young as a kid.
SPEAKER_01Come on.
SPEAKER_00That now he's gonna teach me ministry. Yeah, yeah. So I was taught ministry hands-on. Come on. I didn't go to school for, I didn't have nobody to tell me what was ministry, because a lot of people still have it confused today what ministry is.
SPEAKER_01Right, right. This is true.
SPEAKER_00So I was taught, me and my wife both was taught by God what ministry is.
SPEAKER_01Amazing. We do we with that is like you go right into Colossians 3 23 where it said, and whatsoever ye do, do it orderly, has to the Lord. Ooh. And I know this is touching on the integrity, the work ethic, you know, as you guys are being instructed by God and what this ministry is gonna look like. I'm sure you guys understand, okay, how do we apply ourselves and in an ethical way where people are gonna be like, you know what? We wanna be around them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. We are we committed, our commitment to Christ, not to man, was uh one of our first things. We're gonna be committed to Christ because I am not the type of person to play with that word, right, with that word, with the word of God. I'm not the type of person that do that.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00If I'm gonna be into that, I'm gonna be into it. If I'm not, I'm gonna stay away from it.
SPEAKER_01There you go.
SPEAKER_00So I don't wanna be, you know, like they say, on this side of the fence and that side of the fence at the same time.
SPEAKER_01Right, right.
SPEAKER_00So I have a narrow, my mind is narrow.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00You know, just like you're zoomed in. I'm zoomed in. Yeah, yeah. I love that. That that's that's where I'm at. And you know, I I it doesn't matter anything that's not in that line of my line of fire. Now looking in the periphery. I can't I can't worry about, you know, uh focus on other people's stuff. No. You know, that's not my job.
SPEAKER_01Right, right, right, right. This is true. Yeah, this is true. I love that. I you know, and I think if more people can understand that, less conflicts. Yes. Because a lot of times you hear conflict and it's like, oh, because this person was in this person's business or whatever that was looking like.
SPEAKER_00It's it's always people, people problems.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00People have most of our problem issues is is with people.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So we need to learn about people problems and how you're gonna deal with people problems. When people come, like in our ministry, if if a person comes and they have a problem, I need to be equipped and need some wisdom on how to to deal with them or to help them, because God has given me uh very, I was, you know, anointed discernment about some things, you know. Yeah. And um, and I I love people. I love people.
SPEAKER_01I love that. Proverbs 10 9 says, he that walk it uprightly. Walk it surely. That is beautiful.
SPEAKER_00He that walk uprightly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yes, walk it surely. Yes. Because you following the word. We just following the word. Yeah. Me and my wife, we just following the word. We're we're just uh we're not looking to the left, not looking to the right. Right. We just looking at the word and just go, just go, go be. Yeah, yeah. You know, I I like that. Just keep it, just keep it simple. Right. When you start making things complicated, yeah, that's when you adding stuff to what you think your own your understanding.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00You know, when you start adding stuff, if we just keep it simple, because this is a this is a simple word. This is a simple, simple instruction. God knows that we can't, we can't even, but we don't know how to deal with all of this stuff.
SPEAKER_01Listen, what you're saying right there is speaking right into what 1 John 3.18 is saying. Let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth. In deed and in the truth. That's it. Mm-mm. Man. Let me ask you, man, because you know a lot of people when they come to the church and you know, you you get to the end of the you know, the service or the message, what is it about people being afraid to come to the pulpit? Or just to come to the altar?
SPEAKER_00Conviction, shame.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00They are in the in the uh midst of some things going on. Or even the, you know, last night was probably, you know, a little bit, you know, chaotic.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know, they dealing with some things. Right. So they need for the they need that the the a solid word from the from the Lord. Yeah. Because the Lord is the one who breaks yokes, break chains.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Give them that push. Give them that push, and then they'll get up, yeah, you know, with tears in their eyes.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00And humble as they they they ever been, oh yeah, you know, that that will push them. But if you in that pulpit and you, you know, you on this thing where you know you're not giving them a solid, right, you know, God anointed word, yeah, they're not gonna move. They're not even gonna lift their hands.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00You know, they're not even gonna, you know, do anything. They'll sit there and leave out of there the same way they come. And that I don't I do not like that.
SPEAKER_01Come on, man. That's never good. That's never good. No. Because it just means like that stronghold that was on them when they came in, it still got them leaving.
SPEAKER_00That could be their last day, and we didn't, you know, we didn't let God be God in that sermon. Every sermon we have, we, you know, what we teach, you know, each other is and help each other with all our leaders, is we have to let God be God. We don't do anything up under our own strength because our own strength, it ain't got no anointing on it. No anointing at all. This is true.
SPEAKER_01This is very true. I I I like that, man. And I I think I would love to jump into this fruit of the spirit, which is Galatians 5, 22 to 23. The fruit of the spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. And you were touching on a few of that when you were like warned off.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, yes. I love that. I love that verse. I love that. When when I first came to Christ, when I heard that the fruit of the spirit, that caught my attention.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I said, we're talking about fruit. And I like fruit. Right. You know, I like apple, oranges, bananas. I like fruit. So now it's talking about fruit of the spirit. Yeah. I was like, man, so I gotta learn that. And now I don't, I learned what fruit of the spirit is. And that is some real good stuff. That's the best fruit basket you could ever have. Love, joy, peace, happiness, long suffering. Yeah. And the list goes on and on and on. I mean, I love that. The fruit of the spirit. And we try to teach kids that. You try to when you try to teach people that, and they don't understand what it is because they still, it's it's a process that they're gonna have to go through so you can be able to understand what kind of fruit basket this is. But a lot of people they they don't know because they're worried about their stomach, they're hungry, they're thinking about other fruits. You know, you could be talking about spiritual things and a person's mind, they can be focused on worldly things at the same time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, we and I know at some point we, you know, we got to unfold this, you know, and I don't know which episode you guys will get this, but helping people to understand, once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are given a spirit that helps you to deny the flesh. Yes. Because the flesh craves everything of the world every day. Yes. Every single day. Yes, yes. And when you hear, you know, Pastor Jimmy talk about the fruit of the spirit. That's the spirit. That's that that spirit. And I know a lot of people are watching and listening right now and be like, well, I didn't accept Jesus, so I don't have that spirit.
SPEAKER_00Well, you you it's there. It is there, you know. Because you ain't wanted. Yes, yes. You got to, you gotta take your foot up off, you know, don't don't put your foot on on the spirit. Right. You gotta let it release. That means you're gonna have to do some reading and some praying and some some seeking, and you're gonna have to find out what is the what is the uh fruit of the spirit. Right. You're gonna have to re know how to tap in into the spirit. Yes, you know, and that's gonna make the difference. Yeah. And once you can tap in and and you know when the spirit is at work, right, you know, then you you won't have those issues.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah. You know, definitely, definitely.
SPEAKER_00Uh, like this morning, you know, I woke up, you know, with like, man, I'm like, man, what is going on? I was I don't know real, I was at the time I didn't realize I was up under attack. Yeah, you know. I mean, my nose was just running this crazy, just like it was getting ready to run away. Yeah, you know, I'm like, man, what is going on? And my wife said, Take take this here, and take that there. Yeah. I said, I don't know, I ain't taking nothing. I'm going, I gotta go before the Lord. Yeah, you know, before I take anything, go to him first. And so I got up and I I I just went before the Lord and and I just knew all, you know, we're gonna be diving in, we're gonna be diving in this. So I I I just relied, I just put focus my mind on it and and start, and next thing you know, before morning time came, there was no more running nose, no nothing. You didn't I didn't bring any tissue with me, you know, it's like it's like, man, that happened in those that hour back there. But now you know you good. Now I'm good. Oh because all I right now I just have the desire just to be in the word of God. Oh, yeah. And to praise and worship him, and to be in the right spirit. And we're in the right spirit right now.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I know. Because I've been longing to see you since we've been talking, since you've got hey, listen guys, this is one of the pastor brothers here that was praying for me and praying with me as well when I was in the hospital, and you guys know I was there for 30 days in the ICU. A lot of people said, You can't scare us like that, Corona. Yeah. A lot of people were scared for me, man. So, but you know, God. But God. But God. But God, man.
SPEAKER_00Well, I can tell you also that let me see a few years ago when I had caught COVID.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Maybe I should wait till later for you. So I can tell you that story later. I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait. I want to get back to it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, you know, one of the things I can say with what you were saying earlier was you did not allow the interception that was trying to happen with you this morning because the devil wanted you to not be here.
SPEAKER_00To not be here.
SPEAKER_01To have this conversation and to help you guys that are, you know, tuning in and trying to get something from what is happening right now. Listen, man, I appreciate you for doing that. You know, tapping in and saying, okay, God, you got this.
SPEAKER_00You got this.
SPEAKER_01You trust the process. You didn't come with no, like, I don't know if God is really gonna do it. You believe, man, and it was done.
SPEAKER_00It's done.
SPEAKER_01Come on.
SPEAKER_00Because I know he, I know he's a healer.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00I know he's a deliverer.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00You know, I I I know the I don't have any doubt about whether he can heal you or not. Whether he can deliver you, he healed you. Yeah, he got you out of that. Oh, yeah, there ain't no way you could have got out of the hospital. Oh, no, without without the prayers and your faith in these things.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, listen, listen. I'm telling you, when the doctors look at the situation in the early part, they're like, Yeah, he's he's not leaving here without a new heart. There you go. And I walk out of there with my same, well, you know, God reconstruct what was going on in here. And uh, you know, Yahweh Rafa stepped in, man, and check in with the body parts, man, and the limbs and say, listen, we we created this man right here. He still got work to do. Come on. Yeah, yeah, man. It's but you know, I wanted to say to you guys the power of believing. The power of believing, because you believe in and showing that you believe, not bringing nothing to say, you know what, God, I know you're gonna take it away from me, but just in case you didn't do that, come on, man.
SPEAKER_00At all. At all. Just like just like I had some things on here. I said, let me let me get some quick Yeah. Man, then I say, wait a minute. God, you ain't you never let me down. No, no. You know, you always showed up when I asked. Yes. Even when I didn't ask, you always showed up. Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_01Yes. This is beautiful.
SPEAKER_00I I I just love it. And it's it he it works, but you can't have doubt. No, you can't have doubt.
SPEAKER_01You cannot, you cannot, man.
SPEAKER_00Because if I'd had any doubt this morning, I would have been here, you know, man. I'm sorry, excuse me. I gotta blow my nose, you know. Right, right, right. Man, it's like um you gave none of that power, right? I'm celebrating every day I'm here. I I love that, man. And for for the life that Christ has loaned to me.
SPEAKER_01Right. And you know, I think when people see a lot of that, because for a lot of individuals, they're trying to understand when you're in the word, when it like what day of the week where you're like, you know what, this is my lowest day. I need to tap in. I need to tap back in. A lot of people are still trying to understand what I look like because they don't know you can actually go every day with with tapping in with God. But this because there's so much going on in the world and the flesh is craving all these different things, sometimes you tap out. How do you catch yourself and and put yourself back in?
SPEAKER_00Well, you you're gonna you're gonna begin to see, feel the emptiness.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. It's gonna be like, you know, there's nothing in my cup. I need to get filled up. I don't have that, I don't, I don't have that, that, that, is, that excitement, that, that joy, that strength that I normally have when I'm praising and worshiping, reading, and studying and fasting and all of these stuff. I don't I don't have that. So it's time to tap back in. Yeah. Because I cannot return to the old me.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_00I cannot return there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. You know, for a lot of individuals that is wrestling with faith and how that is. And I I want to tap in with you guys. Listen, I'm not even reading and I'm letting Pastor read Hebrews 11:1 for you guys. So you guys understand, understand the importance of faith and what that looks like.
SPEAKER_00Amen. And I love Hebrews 11 and 1. I love Hebrews 11, period. Yes, all of it. Yeah, so it said, now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Come on, come on, come on, man. It's the substance of things hoped for. So do we have hope? Right. Do we have hope in Christ? Do we have hope that that God is who he said he is? Right. That he can do the what he said he can do.
SPEAKER_01Right, right.
SPEAKER_00Even though we didn't, we didn't never see him, we you know, right. But do we have enough faith to believe who he is?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Do we have enough faith to believe who is the substance of things hoped for. I hope God, I hope you're telling me, you know what I mean? Sometimes we gotta get raw. Oh, yeah. God, I I I just hope that everything that I'm learning is is the truth. Yes. You know, yes. And and God, he's not offended with that because he knows we're we're we're just humans.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know, he said uh the evidence of things not seen. Seen. You gotta have faith that you are healed.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00You got to have faith that God can do the impossible. You gotta have faith, trust and believe. Yes. That also that goes with this faith. Yes. The trust and belief.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00Now, if you don't believe, right, you need to be praying about God help my unbelief.
SPEAKER_01Listen, and and you say that we now I gotta have you talk to them about what Hebrews 11, 6 is saying.
SPEAKER_00Hebrews 11 and 6. But without faith, it is impossible to please him. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. It's impossible to please him.
SPEAKER_01It is. But there's a but, guys.
SPEAKER_00Without faith. Yeah. You can't do this, you can't walk this walk, this Christian walk without faith.
SPEAKER_01You can't.
SPEAKER_00So when you asked earlier, you know, about you know, the the people that they want to come to the altar, but they can't seem to, you know, it seem like they got rocks in their pockets. Yeah. But he all they need just a little bit of faith. Just a s just a little bit, just the size of a mustard seed. Come on. Just a little bit. You know how small a mustard seed is just that much faith.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, wow.
SPEAKER_00To just give God, just give him a chance.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So that he can prove to you that he's God, Almighty.
SPEAKER_01You know, as you're saying that, you know, what story hit in my head just now was when God told Abraham to bring his son. Oh, yes. Like, you know, it's sacrifices for him. Yeah, he's gonna, and he and he had faith in God knowing that it's not necessarily gonna be his son. Or something gonna get sacrificed, and God's gonna provide that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.

SPEAKER_00Sacrifice yourself.
SPEAKER_01Sacrifice yourself and and take heed. Understand that faith is very important, guys.

SPEAKER_01That's big right there, man. To let individual understand how impossible it is to serve God without. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Well, let me tell you about the faith that I had. I mean, I I heard in the beginning when I first surrendered to Christ, yeah. You know, I wasn't walking or talking, you know, about faith. You know, I heard it, you know, but I had to learn, you know, get to Hebrews to find out, you know what, you know. But before I even got here, the Lord already told me, you're gonna be a ministry, you you get ready to lead a ministry.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I don't know. Right. I got to have some kind of faith to trust and believe that he's gonna show me, teach me how to become ministry. Right, right, right. You know, so because I know that this got to do with a lot of people. Yeah. So I got to know how to, you know, lead people. So how I'm gonna be a leader and I don't have faith. Right. How I'm gonna lead somebody if I don't have faith.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00So I I had to have enough faith to say, well, I'm gonna trust you, then I'm gonna believe it. Yes. God, you're gonna do this for me. Oh, yeah. You're gonna do it. I believe you're gonna do it. I don't want to lean on my own understanding. Yes. Because you the Bible talks about lean not on your own understanding. And a lot of times that what gets in our way. This is true. We lean on leaning on our own understanding.
SPEAKER_01Yep, yep. This is this is so true. And uh, you know, for a lot of you guys right now that just heard what Pastor Jimmy said, and you fumbling all around the place, we're gonna run over there. We're gonna run over to Proverbs, Proverbs 4. We, we, we gonna, we're gonna jump right over there. Listen, we're not telling you guys nothing that you guys be like, oh, we'll where where can we find that? How can we read more on that? We got you. We got you guys. We got you guys. It's a beautiful thing. Okay, so here we are, right here. Let me find my I want to make sure I'm giving you guys the right the right chapter. Uh let's see here. Four. Okay. Okay. Let me just highlight them. So it's it's it's two. It's two verses, guys. So this is Proverb three. I'm gonna let Jimmy read that for you guys. Proverb three, five and six.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I love this. I love this one.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path. I love that. Trust in the Lord. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00The thing is, for me, I know I trust, I trust in God. I I know I trust in God.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I believe that I'm trusting him with all my heart.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Now, but sometimes I think about, well, what if I get into a you know, a situation where it's it's really heated up? Will I continue to trust in the Lord and with all my heart? Well, or will I lean to my own understanding? Right, right. You know? So that's why it's important that we we that we we we get to know him for real. We have to. We got to get to know him for real.
SPEAKER_01We have to. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's a in all thy ways acknowledge him.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00So we got to get used to acknowledging him in everything we do, everywhere we go, every person we talk to, in every situation. We got to get used to, and all it's a in all thy ways acknowledge him.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And he, yeah, not you, me, mama, daddy, brother, sister, not nobody. He shall direct our path.
SPEAKER_01Come on, man.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_01Wow. It's, you know, I know some people would say, well, what do you do when you like ride in a moment where someone wants to get into a physical advocation with you and you just don't want to stand there and you know, take whatever that is.
SPEAKER_00Well, I I thought about that. I thought about that. I'm like, man.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know, me, I'm kind of like, you know, kind of uh dramatic sometimes, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You may anything may come up. I I don't know, however the Lord lead me. I may, I may squat down and just start writing in the sand. Confuse, confuse your enemy. You definitely couldn't. Confused. You look like what we doing? We supposed to be getting it on right now. Come on. Just start writing in the sand. And start writing up the our father, bro. Our father.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Which oh, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00To confuse the enemy.
SPEAKER_01You know, I I've always so when I learned Mix Marshall in in high school, my teacher was always about giving your opponent the benefit, you know, telling them, even if you know you can beat them, you tell them, hey, you got this. I could never beat you, man. You know, listen, we good, you know, like, but you know, and I it's Proverbs 15.1 that says, a soft answer turn it away, rat. You know, so a lot of you guys, and I know people get into altercations and they're like, you know, well, I gotta handle my own. And I know that's hard for a lot of people. Because if I I I know I saw something where a guy he slapped this guy so hard, man. And the guy didn't retaliate. The guy turned his other cheek for the guy to slap him, and and the dude was like, What are you doing? Like he he was hoping for a retaliation to happen, and the guy didn't do that. I'm gonna tell you guys right now. I will try to never put myself in a situation like that.
SPEAKER_00But that's hard. It it is, but I do look at that, it should be the first thing we should do is, you know, the first thing we should do is give him a soft answer. Yeah, you know, respond with a soft answer, you know. Yeah, right. Hey bro, look, man, let's let's not do let's not go there. Right, you know, and then if he continues, and then I can understand because that's what the Bible tells us, you know. How you know you respond. But if he continues, then he may see the beast. Oh, yeah. The beast within.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because see, we always, you know, we've never lived like that, where what you slap me in, what? You know, I know I'm a pastor, but that's why I'm gonna tell you that let's not let's not go there. Yeah. You know. But if you want to slap me again, then you may, you know, the you know you might get some hands on. Like me and my me and my I know my father about to release me.
SPEAKER_01You know. Oh yeah, oh yeah. We we not no walkover or pushover. No, no, you no, you can't do that. Never that, never that. No. And I know a lot of you guys be like, well, we can't, we can't find what you guys are saying. Listen. We got our proof right here, people. I'm gonna let Pastor Jimmy read that right there.
SPEAKER_00Okay, Proverbs 15 and 1.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00A soft answer turn away wrath. But grievous words stir up anger. Yes. The tongue of the wise uses knowledge aright, but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. Come on. You guys hear that? You guys hear that? So when you see, well, a lot of time I see like women get into it. Yeah. You know, real kids, men, everybody, but I'm gonna use some women now. Yeah. Women get in arguments, it's like as soon as they say one says something, the other say something, they'll keep going. Right. You know?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then the word said, but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. Now you don't even understand. It's because the the situation got to a place where you don't even hear that other person. Right. All you know what's in you right now, yeah, you know, is is is the fire is burning so bad, you don't even hear all you want to do is just tear that person apart.
SPEAKER_01Right, right.
SPEAKER_00You know, so but what if you were to start it out? Yeah. Just, hey, let's not go down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, and and you know, and just leave it at that. You know, the word, the got the word, the word said turn away it, the uh south answer, turn away wrath.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You know, it does, it does.
SPEAKER_00But if you're gonna pop off, you know, you know, fight fire with fire.
SPEAKER_01Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_00Then you got to expect for whatever happened. Whatever, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Whatever happened is gonna happen. That's right. That's right. That right there, and I think, you know, for for a lot of us, you know, because I I had this lady was saying to me one time, she was arguing with this lady, and she said, We didn't even know what we was arguing about. Like, how do you argue for a good two to five minutes and don't even know what you're arguing about? That's crazy right now. It's like what the second the second uh verse is saying, you know?
SPEAKER_00Man, come on, people. But the tongue of the wise uses knowledge the right.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00So the tongue has power. It does. I mean, you can conquer a lot with the tongue. Oh, yeah. Because if you think back, Jesus spoke the creation into existence. It's the word with words. Oh yeah, oh yeah. So words have power. Yes. And if we once we understand about the power that we have in us, you know, we're just words.
SPEAKER_01And listen, guys, I didn't tell Pastor Jimmy to say that. This is confirmation of what we talked about last week. Because we I dive into John 1 1, and just to help them understand the power of the word. Yeah. Because the word was first. The word is what makes all of this happen, you know.
SPEAKER_00That's right.

SPEAKER_00In the beginning was the word.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And the word was God. And the word was with God. That, you know, for I think for a lot of people, you know, that I and I feel like, you know, when you don't necessarily have a solid relationship with God, you don't necessarily understand the power you hold or what that looks like.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Exactly. That's why it's very important to have, you know, really be serious about God. Because God is not nowhere near on our level. He's a He's a creator. He's a king of kings. Uh he's a beginning and an end. And the end. You know, you know, he's he's everything. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. You know, he's a great I am. Yep. I mean, so therefore, your opinion don't even don't don't even count.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00It don't even matter about your opinion.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00You're talking about God.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_00God Almighty. He's a God Almighty. Who else is an Almighty? He's the only Almighty.
SPEAKER_01He's the only Almighty. And I I know some of you guys heard pastor said, he is I am, and you're like, where'd he get that? Well, listen, listen. In the early part of the Bible, where he's talking about Moses' journey, Moses said, God, who should I tell them, send me? Tell them I am. I am. Come on, man. I am. Come on, man. Like, listen, guys, there is so much to unpack. And if we was to unpack a lot of this to help you guys, we'd be here all morning. And the show. She'll be calling. Listen, listen, listen. I I gotta tell you, you know, this has been so beautiful. And, you know, for a lot of guys that they feel that there's a calling on their life, but they don't know if they're hearing the right thing. What would you say to them?
SPEAKER_00Well, I had a conversation with a guy recently, I think probably a month ago. You know, he saw me. He was like, Jimmy? Yeah. Jimmy? Yeah. I said, yeah, yeah, praise the Lord, bro. Yeah. You know, he was like, man, God is good. Yeah. So he started talking my language now. Right. So, but in his mind, he thought You was the old Jimmy. The old Jimmy. Yeah, yeah. But, you know, I think he was in uh confusion because I don't look like the old Jimmy. I don't talk like the old, I don't walk like him. Nothing. Nothing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You know, I'm walking in my newness.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00And I'm excited about my newness. So I try to tell my brother that, man, I said, bruh, it ain't many of us back in the day when I was coming up. Right. They're still around.
SPEAKER_01Right, right.
SPEAKER_00You still here, you're here for a reason. Right. Like, you do you you have a church home? Yeah. He said, no, bro, I'm uh, you know, I'm, you know, I'm still, you know, looking around and trying to figure it. I said, oh, okay, okay. You st you still holding on to sin. Yeah, yeah. That three-letter word, sin. You're still holding on to that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Because you don't have no idea who he is. Right. If you're holding on to that. I'm like, ain't nothing wrong wrong with me. I what if I was still holding on, you know, to sin. Right. I wouldn't be where I'm at. I wouldn't have get received the blessings that I'm being blessed. So he talks, start talking about the, yeah, well, God been good to me. He, you know, he done blessed me with a business. And yeah, ain't nothing wrong with being blessed.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But at the end of the day, you're going to be judged. Oh, yeah. And you got to be grateful. You you better, you better know what you know. Right. You know, you talk about the blessing, but what about judgment time? You ain't walking what you're talking.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00You just talking about the blessing. But what what do your walk what is that walk like? What that look like.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Wow. Wow. I like what you touched on earlier where you say I'm walking in the new new. In the newness. In the newness of Christ. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_00You know. Because I have a heart for people's souls.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes.
SPEAKER_00That is beautiful. For their souls, not them in their wicked ways. Right, right. For their souls. I have a heart for people's souls. When I see people, that's what I think, I think about their souls first.
SPEAKER_02Come on.
SPEAKER_00You know, then I look at this situation, I'm like, man, you know, this is this is this is gonna be a task, you know, to, you know, try to, but I know God, you're able, you know, to use me to be able to connect with with that person.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00But uh their souls is what's more important, yes, you know, than their meal. Right. So that that's that just me though. That just me.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I love that. I love that, man. I I, for me, you know, just even now tapping in more into the word and understanding how I need to be walking and how I need to be acting, yeah, you know, it because people look at you. People look at you, you know, are you living? Are you, you know, who why is this this brother so happy? What is happening there? You know, and so for me, I understand the importance of what that looks like. And even, you know, sometimes the devil do get an opportunity to come at you in a big way, but but God.
SPEAKER_00But God. Well, the devil been defeated when I gave my life to Christ. Yeah. So I walk and live now in victory.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00If he's been defeated before, he'll be defeated again. So I don't care what the what what's going on. Yeah, yeah. Because I can tell you, you know, I had uh before my wife, I had another daughter and son out of, you know, another relationship.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00And it wasn't so good because they didn't feel, you know, they they uh grew up to be adults, young adults, and we didn't have a relationship because they live in another, they live in Alabama.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So but when I got connected with Christ, he started putting the pieces together. Right. And now they give me more respect. Like they live with me and call me all the time. And you know, at first that they used to cuss me out. Yeah, you know, I used to get cursed out by my kids. Right. You know, before Christ, they'd have cursed me out. I'm like, well, you better be be you better be always looking because you're gonna see one of them little round things coming at you. Oh wow. Yeah. I was I was I had a mean streak in me, you know. Yeah. But in Christ, now I I'm just like, you know, and then there's time I have to go in, you know, and just cry, God, you're just so good. Yeah, yeah. Do if we understand how good God really is.
SPEAKER_01This is true. This is true.
SPEAKER_00People, I don't care. You can talk about all the blessings you that you get, God allows you to have, all the blessings, but when things don't go your way, what you gonna do then? It's like, well, God, you but you're gonna curse him? Right, right.
SPEAKER_01You know, right.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00God, he's too good. You know, he's too good. He's been too good to me. Come on, come on. You know, I'm still here through all the adversity.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00All the adversity that I had in my life, yeah, I'm still here.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00And now it just every day, you know, I just feel that, you know, my praise is getting even stronger. I can even when I became an overseer.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I didn't ask for it. Right. I didn't went to school for it. I didn't call nobody.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00I have no, no nothing.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's like God, what he did before.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00He gonna what he started.
SPEAKER_01Yes. He gonna finish.
SPEAKER_00He gonna he gonna finish.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00This is he started something with me, so he's gonna be faithful enough to finish it.
SPEAKER_01Oh man, listen, guys, this is where Sunday shows what we profess. But Monday through Saturday reveals what we truly practice. And you've heard Pastor Jimmy tap into so many areas. SPEAKER_00Heavenly Father, for all the listeners out there today, for every soul, Father God, that's that hears the sound of my voice. Father, I pray, Father God, that you meet them right where they're at today. Father, I pray that you give them the desires of their heart, Father God, and and teach them, Father God, how to become obedient and trustworthy and how to obey your word and your will for our lives. Father, help them to understand that you are the Alpha and the Omega. Help them to understand that you are the King of Kings. Help them to understand that you are the first and the last. Father, I pray today, Father God, that there was something said today, Father God, that could be useful in their walk and their decision, Father God, on serving and following you, oh God. So, Father, I pray, Father God, today, Lord God, that if it's only one, Father God, that you get the glory out of that person. And I pray for everyone else, Father God, that you take the words that came out of our mouths today, Father God, and use it in your favor as a weapon, Father God, to help us to get through the days of our lives. And I'd like to say at this moment, and we just trust that it's not by our might nor by our power, but by the spirit that we will be able to see that we are overcomers. We can overcome whatever we need to overcome, but it's gonna have to be done in the spirit of Jesus Christ. God, I thank you and I love you so much for all that you do for us, even when we don't do right. Father God, I bless your holy name, Father God.
